More cool book covers. Each cover is a specimen box filled with paper and insect pins. Nabokov, an avid lepidopterist, would have approved. More here.

Penguin editions of In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. The black and white one with the car is one of six in the new Penguin Magnum Collection.
Interviewer: What kinds of feelings do posthumous works awaken in you?
R.B.: Posthumous: It sounds like the name of a Roman gladiator, an unconquered gladiator. At least that’s what poor Posthumous would like to believe. It gives him courage.

Fun fact about Eugene: Animal House was filmed at the University of Oregon. You hear “Louie Louie” a lot when you live in this town.
Reminds me of “Mon Plaisir,” a short story from her collection no one belongs here more than you, in which an unhappy couple (briefly) rekindles their love while serving as extras for a film shoot. There’s more to it, obviously… Anyway, it’s a great story and this is a great photo.

Yes, that is James Franco sleeping away his $100,000 + education in the Columbia University MFA creative writing program. What a jerk.
Am I a wee bit bitter over having been rejected by their program? Probably. (But, seriously, what a jerk.)
